We're excited to announce that Charlotte will be hosting a +Gamma series anomaly on February 28th, 2026!
The anomaly itself will be a 3-4 hour long battle for portals and shards in uptown Charlotte. Additionally, attendees can expect an entire weekend full of Ingress events with chances to meet other agents, earn +Gamma points for their team and unlock new badges for their profile!
Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a new player learning the ropes -- all agents are needed to help us secure a Resistance victory in Charlotte!
The Charlotte +Gamma Anomaly offers many exciting things to do, including:
Your first step -- Register today! Registration is key to helping the Resistance team with planning and winning the anomaly! It will also grant you access to information and resources you need to make sure you have a great anomaly experience.
The Charlotte +Gamma Anomaly
The main event will be held on Saturday afternoon and last approximately three to four hours. You and your team will be deployed to the streets of uptown Charlotte in an epic virtual battle for control of portals and shards!
Resistance After-Party
After the battle on Saturday, you're welcome to join your Resistance teammates for some drinks, rest and relaxation at the Resistance after party.
NL-1331
All weekend long, one of the virtual NL-1331 vans will be parked inside the playbox. Stop by and hack the portal to gain credit towards the next level of your badge.
GORUCK Urban and Stealth
GORUCK will be hosting two competitive events on Friday evening (Stealth) and Saturday morning (Urban). Our RES Titans (and those other guys) will compete in a series of physical, mental and Ingress challenges all while carrying a ruck (weighted backpack). These events require extra registration with GORUCK and have a fee – contact us for more details if you are interested!
Charlotte Mission Day
All day on Sunday, Mission Day missions for the Charlotte +Gamma anomaly will be available. Explore Charlotte and complete six or more +Gamma missions to get a tick for your Mission Day badge.
Operation Clear Field
The last of three GORUCK events and the final event of the +Gamma Charlotte Anomaly is Operation Clear Field - a scavenger hunt with GORUCK and Ingress twists. Note that separate registration and a fee is also required for this event.
AND MORE!
Charlotte was originally settled around 1755 at the intersection of two Native American trading routes (one of which would later become known as the Great Wagon Road). From those beginnings it has grown to become the 14th largest city in the United States, and one of the fastest growing in the USA.
It lives up to those roots by remaining a center of commerce and travel in the area today. Charlotte is centrally located in the Carolinas with easy access via highways and it hosts one of the nation's busiest airports. It also features the headquarters of many major corporations, especially in the finance and banking industry.
Charlotte is one the greenest cities in the world, and Charlotteans take great pride in their parks, greenways and extensive urban tree canopy. Even though you'll be visiting us at the end of winter, our mild climate means you'll very likely arrive to warming temperatures and the start of our trees coming back into bloom.
While there is still plenty of "small city" vibes and southern charm to be had in Charlotte, our speedy growth also means there are new and exciting things to see and experience every day! Great museums, restaurants, breweries and parks and more-- there is something for everybody.
Join us as we explore and play in the Queen City!
In 1761, Charlotte was named in honor of the queen consort of Britain and Ireland - Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Today, Charlotte is nicknamed "The Queen City" (or occasionally the "QC") and you can see moniker used everywhere around town -- from our city government's crown logo to our infamous 'intersection of Queens and Queens".
Much like the recent "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story" is loosely based on her life, we have put our own Resistance spin on the queen - The Queen of Swords!
Her spirit lives on in the Resistance, and she requests your aid to make sure that her city WILL BE BLUE this February!

Public Transportation (CATS)
CATS is Charlotte's public transportation system which includes buses that run city-wide, shuttles from the airport and other express routes and two light rail lines(the Blue and Gold lines) that through the center of the city. The recommended way to see schedules and pay fares is to download the “CATS-Pass” app from your mobile device's app store.
Ride Shares and Taxis
Uber and Lyft operate in Charlotte and are the most popular way to pay for a ride. A taxi line is available at departures from our airport, but taxis in Charlotte rarely take fares from the street in the rest of the city outside of big events -- you'll probably want to call and schedule them if you prefer a cab.
Biking and Scooting
In uptown and in the surrounding neighborhoods you can find and rent dock-less scooters and e-bikes (from Lime and BIRD) with relative ease. There are also several choices for longer-term rental of bikes and scooters near our Uptown Charlotte playbox. Once you are registered, contact us for help in finding a bike to rent or borrow for the anomaly!
Parking in Uptown
Parking is easier to find in Uptown Charlotte than many cities our size, but if you are driving into the city it's advisable to have a plan for where you will park in advance. On Saturday, you should expect most public lots and garages in the playbox will be implementing event parking and their normal advertised prices will be significantly increased.
Light Rail Park-and-ride
If you are staying outside the playbox or driving into town on Saturday, one option to avoid traffic and parking is to use the Blue line's Park-and-Ride lots and garages. Most are free to use and may be cheaper and less stressful if you are planning to come into town only for the day.
